Being the Europe's busiest shopping street, Oxford Street attracts over 200 million visitors a year. With 300 shops and five million squares of retail space  street ensures a life time shopping experience for the visitors. From West end to the East end street is one and a half mile long. Most of the shops in the street opens at 10am and closes at 6pm or 7pm. On Thursday the shops are kept open till 8pm while on Sundays shops will be open from 12pm to 6pm. In 1909 the opening of the department Stores Debenhams and Selfridge hinted the dominance of the Street as a shopping capital of the city.   All these massive  department stores can be found in the section from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus.

Debenhams, one of the main highlights of this shopping arena, has a great collection of designer clothes at less expensive prices. John Lewis is another shop that promises you the 'lowest price' on fabric, feather boas, children toys and cutlery. The interesting layout of the the shop guarantees you that the time you'll spend on finding a good is minimum. Selfridges is on the other hand is the department store for Londoners. It has a wide variety of International and British designer collections. The amount of cool restaurants and cafes promises the shoppers an untiring shopping tour in the store. 

If you are good at struggling and moving forward in the crowds, Oxford Street has great choices in terms of High Street fashion. Among these shops Topshop's flagship store and it's male counterpart Topmann tops the list. Benetton, French Connection and Hennes are some of the good stores to buy inexpensive clothes. If you are looking for sports wear Niketown is the ideal place for you. With several floors dedicated for sports wear it ensures you'll find anything you want from here.

Oxford Street, is always a favorite destination of a shopaholic, as many department stores are situated in here. If anyone would like to visit the place you can easily get in there by train as the Oxford Circus Tube is situated about two minutes from the east of the street.
